Purchasing Supervisor supervises daily procurement and purchasing operations and implements the strategy to provide the materials and services to meet organizational requirements for quality, volume, availability, and pricing. Maintains strategic supplier relationships, negotiates pricing, monitors performance, and expedites to respond to changes in demand or disruptions in the supply chain. Being a Purchasing Supervisor collaborates with other functions to meet current and future inventory requirements and manage inventory levels. Utilizes technical tools to analyze data and increase responsiveness to material demands. Additionally, Purchasing Supervisor performs auditing processes to ensure procurement and recordkeeping comply with any applicable industry or governmental regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Purchasing Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Purchasing Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Community HigherEd is searching for a Purchasing Assistant for the Community Care College, Clary Sage College, and Oklahoma Technical College campuses. The Purchasing Assistant will work with the Purchasing Specialist to promptly deliver supplies, books, and various equipment. The role's primary focus includes receiving and stocking supplies, assembling kits, taking Inventory, transporting supplies to other campuses (within a 1-mile radius), and shipping and receiving materials.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, outstanding customer service skills, a sense of urgency, and be safety-oriented. Computer literacy is required to operate purchasing software, reconcile purchase orders, place orders, and correspond with stakeholders. Must be in good physical condition with the ability to meet the physical requirements listed, for the purpose of receiving, stocking, and supply management. Must be dependable and carry out tasks with a strong sense of urgency, customer service, and safety.
