This position is considered Office-First. An office-first employee is an employee within the Greater Omaha Metropolitan Area whose default work location is a designated office and has office presence at least four days per week, specifically, Monday through Thursday. An office-first employee may at times perform work outside of a designated office location based on personal or professional need, at the discretion of their supervisor. Scooter’s Coffee is headquartered in Omaha, NE. The successful candidate lives in Omaha, NE. Relocation is not available for this role.
Description
The Accountant will support the Assistant Controller and Controller with the accounting of Boundless Enterprises. Primary responsibilities include accounts payable, accounts receivable, and data entry to ensure electronic processing are allocated to the proper cost center. This role will play a vital role in making sure accounts are balanced, month-end close, and ensuring the accuracy of financials. In this role you will use your strong organizational and multitasking skills to help streamline processes, maintain excellence in recordkeeping and have exceptional attention to detail.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Support the Assistant Controller in timely and accurate monthly closings, as well as completion of the annual financial audit
- Audit employee credit cards and expense reports in compliance with company Signature Authority policy
- Reconciling intercompany accounts
- Sales and Use tax returns
- Real Estate and Personal Property Taxes
- Production accounting and reconciliation between WMS and ERP
- Lease accounting entries and reconciliations in compliance with ASC 842
- Reconciling fixed assets, construction in progress, and depreciation accounts
- Monthly bank reconciliation
- Gift card orders fulfillment and payment tracking
- Other miscellaneous monthly journal entries and account reconciliations as assigned
- Ability to review processes for effectiveness and efficiency
- Contributing to and leading departmental projects and initiatives
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve discrepancies, issues, and questions independently
- May provide guidance, training, and supervision of work of other staff members
Qualifications
- 4-6 years of related experience in accounting
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or CPA preferred
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently
- Positive attitude, willingness to take on challenging projects required
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- High proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and previous experience with Sage100 desired
