    The Program Director position shall meet the University requirements for an academic rank of Associate Professor or Professor. Reporting to the Dean of the School of Health Sciences, the Program Director is a 12-month position who is responsible for leadership and the overall management of the graduate psychology programs (PsyD, MS, and MA) to ensure quality educational experience for its students, efficient delivery of the program offering, and compliance with accreditation standards and institutional policies and procedures. The position has the responsibility of teaching, providing service to the university, and engaging in scholarship as outlined in the Chatham University Faculty Manual. This position requires the applicant to be prepared to begin at the start of the academic year 2024-2025.


    Primary Administrative Responsibilities:

    • Supervises the implementation and assessment of the curriculum according to best practices, institutional, and accreditation requirements.
    • Ensures compliance with APA and MPCAC accreditation standards.
    • Provides strategic and operational leadership to the program to assure quality and efficiency.
    • Hires principal and associated faculty and staff, evaluates their performance, and supports their ongoing professional growth and development.
    • Plans and manages program budget and fiscal resources, as well as faculty and staff workload.
    • Contributes to advancing the institutional mission and strategic plan.

    Other Faculty Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Teaching, advising, and conducting research in our MPCAC-accredited MS in Counseling Psychology and our APA-accredited PsyD in Counseling Psychology programs.
    • Chairing and serving on dissertation committees.
    • Evaluating comprehensive examinations.
    • Performing admissions activities including student recruitment and interviewing, and engaging in program, university, and professional service activities.
    • Other duties as assigned by Dean.

    Qualifications

    • Must have an earned Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Counseling Psychology (preferred) or Clinical Psychology from an APA-accredited program and be licensed or license eligible in Pennsylvania.
    • At least five years of full-time higher education experience at the time of appointment; prior leadership experience in higher education is strongly preferred.
    • Candidates should have a record of scholarship that is consistent with the values and practice of counseling psychology and commensurate to rank.
    • Interest and expertise in strength-based and positive approaches is desired.
