Being a Professor - Physical Therapy provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Physical Therapy typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1) Develop and maintain courses including online and face-to-face courses as assigned.
2) Advise students.
3) Conduct scholarly activities, clinical practice and participate in services to the University, School, and Department.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Entry level degree in PT with at least 2 years clinical experience. Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in neurology, neuroscience, assistive technology, or health systems and ethics within a PT education program. Licensed PT in the U.S. and eligible to be licensed in Texas.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Expertise in teaching and learning in online environments a plus. Academic doctorate (PhD, EdD, DSc etc.) in field related to physical therapy. Residency or fellowship training in Clinical Neurology.
SALARY:
Commensurate with experience.
