Professor - Medical Administration jobs in Texas
Professor - Medical Administration teaches courses in the discipline area of health and medical administration. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being a Professor - Medical Administration provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Medical Administration typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
This position will be part of the CHI at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB), Galveston is a new Center formed in partnership between the School of Medicine and UTMB Health in 2021. CHI has a tri-partite mission of catalyzing rigorous research, helping UTMB to continue to evolve into a learning health system and enhancing population health in South-East Texas. We are recruiting faculty to help build The Center. Competitive candidates will be expected to have a history of independent research funding and a deep commitment to applied research that has impact at the level of the patient, healthcare system, or population. He/she will also have a strong interest in mentoring junior faculty and fellows. Applicants will also be expected to have a demonstrable track record working on multi-disciplinary teams.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
MD or PhD with 5 years of experience conducting and leading research in the area of quality improvement, patient safety, health services research, implementation science, or a related discipline
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Five-or-more years of experience conducting research in an academic health system
