  • Position Description The Department of Computer Science in the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science at The University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas) invites applications for multiple non-tenure track faculty positions in Computer Science at the rank Assistant Professor of Instruction. Associate and Full Professor of Instruction appointments will also be considered, based on experience. Applicants from all areas of computer science and software engineering are sought. Teaching responsibilities will include undergraduate and graduate level courses in the core curriculum and in the candidate's specialization area. The appointment commences for the fall 2024 semester. Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience: A master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Software Engineering, with teaching experience at university level. Candidates are expected to demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative, engaging, and dynamic environment comprised of individuals with a range of backgrounds, skills, and perspectives. We are seeking candidates able to deliver high quality teaching using evidence-based practices to effectively engage students from a range of backgrounds and experiences. The Department/School The Department of Computer Science at UT Dallas is one of the largest in the country, with more than 5,600 students, and offers B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in both Computer Science and Software Engineering. It also offers degrees in Data Science, Computer Engineering, and Telecom Engineering that are jointly administered with other departments. According to US News and World Report, it is ranked 3rd in Texas in its field among public universities. The department is home to about 4,600 undergraduate students, 1,000 graduate students, and 53 tenure track faculty. Our faculty includes 18 NSF CAREER awardees, and multiple DoD Young Investigator Program awards. The department is primarily housed in a 150,000 square feet facility and has excellent computing equipment and support. It houses centers and institutes, particularly in areas of cyber security, human language technology, AI, machine learning, and software technologies for improved human performance.
