We are currently seeking a qualified candidate to fill the role of Sorority House Director.
Salary, lodging, and meals are provided. This position requires the individual to live in the house, spending each evening at the house. The House Director must work congenially and cooperatively in support of the sorority members who reside in the house and manage effectively the operation of the house. The candidate must have successful leadership and management experience and expertise working with college-age students or similar managerial experience.
General Job Description:
The House Director resides at the house.
The House Director is a representative of the house corporation and must possess superb managerial and communications skills. She must be comfortable working closely with collegiate members, alumnae volunteers, staff, and vendors/contractors. The House Director must keep their focus during emergency situations, and must also understand the need for discretion and maintaining confidentiality. She must be accessible and approachable. Attention to detail and careful record-keeping are also important attributes. In addition to the specific duties detailed below, the House Director shall perform such other job duties as assigned by the house corporation, from time to time.
Specific Duties:
- Facilitate adherence to all rules and regulations as they apply to house
- Be present and available to the chapter and its members in a personable and professional manner
- Manage the day-to-day activities, including coordinating and communicating effectively with vendors, staff, etc. with patience and a positive attitude
- Act as representative and attend events at the chapter house whenever asked
- Coordinate with the chapter to ensure support of chapter operations and activities
- Foster relations with University officials as well as other House Directors.
- Attend weekly meetings of the Food Committee to gain general knowledge of food service to the house from Upper Crust. Understand the kitchen, staff, and processes, and be a liaison between Upper Crust and the house corporation and chapter members where needed.
- Attend monthly meetings with the house corporation and chapter representatives.
Required Qualifications:
- An associate degree (further education is a plus) and three years experience in business, human resources, hospitality, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel; Adobe PDF documents; scanning; e-mail, faxing, etc. You must also be able to communicate via text when necessary
- Must be physically active and able to perform normal physical functions, including climbing stairs, lifting, bending, and stretching.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a fraternity/sorority house director and/or working with college students.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and personal automobile with valid insurance

Salary and Benefits:
- Salary commensurate with experience.

- Housing accommodations (private suite with living room, bedroom, and bathroom) are provided within the Chapter House.
- Meals are provided Sunday (dinner) – Friday (lunch), Saturday Brunch through the Chapter House food service provider.
- One paid weekend off each month.
