Production Control Director manages the overall strategic and tactical production control planning, scheduling, flow of materials, and monitoring to achieve goals and objectives for delivery dates, output quality, volume, cost, and optimization. Oversees scheduling and the development of methods to allocate and control resources and materials effectively. Being a Production Control Director establishes monitoring tools and processes to identify and plan for problems with waste, inefficiencies, and inventory in production operations. Recommends improvements to production technology and processes. Additionally, Production Control Director collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to develop effective planning methodologies and best practices. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Production Control Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Production Control Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.   • The Production Control Department is responsible for decision-making and approval authorities regarding production plans. This position will be required to ensure the proper running of MPS and MRP, oversee purchasing, planning, inventory control, logistics, and flow of material by utilizing PLEX.

    Job Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 5 years in metal stamping operation
    • Minimum of six years of experience in production control with four or more years in a management role within an automotive and/or manufacturing environment
    • Must have previous supervisory/management experience
    • Good people/communication skills required
    • Must have satisfactory attendance and safety record
    • Must be proficient with Microsoft office suites
    • PLEX experience preferred

    Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for developing/implementing the master schedule from customer requests
    • Resolve unique circumstances and special requests
    • Monitor and report daily production results versus schedule
    • Identifies raw material and component requirements for production from engineering and production specifications and schedules
    • Develop and control the material handling function to assure effective flow of material within the plant
    • Confirms material supply and demand
    • Analyze and control the level of inventory of finished goods and work in process. Plan layouts to achieve maximum material movement efficiency
    • Minimize scrap and slow-moving parts
    • Resolve problems concerning shipments, shortages, engineering changes, and cancellation of orders
    • Responsible for planning physical inventory to achieve maximum efficiency
    • Ability to develop and implement positive employee relations
    • Oversee manpower planning
    • Must be able to provide leadership to team members in order to accomplish tasks at hand
    • Must be able to develop team members
    • Knowledge of OSHA requirements
    • Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
    • Ability to travel as necessary
    • Maintain Production Control department policies (FIFO, 5S, KPI)
    • Work with UPS (Unipres Production Systems)to implement and maintain department
    • improvements

    • Observe and follow Unipres rules and regulations
    • Maintain satisfactory work area through implementation of 5S
