Tax Manager for SAGEbroadview Wealth Management

Our team is growing, and we have a unique opportunity for a full-time, experienced CPA seeking a path that goes beyond the typical scope of 1040 prep. As a member of the wealth management team, you will oversee all tax related decision and activities in the organization. You will provide tax planning and tax preparation services for approximately 125 clients and provide tax consulting advice to our clients throughout the year.

More about this unique role

Tax season at SAGEbroadview is not outrageously busy. There are approximately 125 returns to complete and they are primarily 1040’s, and they are clients of our wealth management firm. 

• Atypical tax season hours (you will not be working until midnight during tax season).
• Seasonal flex hours.
• Ideal candidate has enough experience to be able to sign returns starting with the 2024-2025 tax season.
• CPA/PFS designation is ideal.
• CPA with tax experience is required.

Outside of tax season, in addition to being the go-to tax specialist, you will become part of the wealth management team and learn the financial planning process.

• Ideal candidate also has demonstrated interest in understanding clients’ complete financial picture – beyond the scope of the 1040 lens.
• Join wealth managers in client meetings to understand more about the decisions that lead up to tax returns you’ll ultimately prepare.
• Collaborate with associates to learn more about financial planning concepts, legislative changes and processes/procedures within the firm.
• Beyond CPA/PFS interest in passing CFP^® exam is another large plus 

Additional skills and knowledge

• B.A. or B.S. in accounting
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in tax planning and preparation
• Exceptional listening, written, and oral communication skills.
• Superb attention to detail
• Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills to manage multiple deadlines and complete projects accurately.
• Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Proficiency with computer programs, including MS Office Suite (advanced Excel skills required), UltraTax, and CRM systems; the ability to learn new software quickly.
• Occasional travel required.
