Are you an experienced Print Production Technician looking to further your industry knowledge? Our client in the Kentwood area is looking for a Print Production Technician for a custom sign shop. The Print Production Technician is primarily responsible for pre-press, production of signs and printed graphics. Pre-press facilitation of the processes and procedures that occur between the creation of a print layout by graphic design and the final printing. Position includes all aspects of the sign design and manufacturing: design, proofs, vinyl cutting and application, digital printing, assembly.

Must be organized, detailed, willing to follow a defined process, and able to work as part of a team and independently.

First Shift: 6am-2:30pm

Employment: Temp to Hire

Pay: Hourly, $17 plus depending on experience

Requirements:

• Experience in a painting environment that wet coating (not robotic or line) preferable in a booth.
• Ability to mix paint in proper proportions.
• Maintain booth - including cleaning and replacement filters.
• Understand testing equipment adhesions and quality standards.
• Preferably previous experience with painting aluminum.
• Previous experience operating printing equipment common to a sign shop preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Operate plotter to contour cut vinyl.
• Weed and mask vinyl.
• Operate cold pressure laminator.
• Operate/Maintain large format and latex/solvent printers.
• Apply vinyl graphics to various substrates, including vehicles.
• Cutting substrates to size
• Willingness to learn new processes and procedures.
• Preflight and prep files for print and graphic production
• Learn, understand, and operate equipment within the graphics department to assist the team where needed.
• Maintain equipment within the graphics department.
• Assist Graphics Manager with inventory management and department organization.
• Assist Graphics Manager with digital print devices.
• Assist Team members with company as a whole, where applicable
• Must be able to lift up to 40lbs, team lift assisted.
