Poker Dealer deals poker, accepts bets, pays winners, and collects from non-winners. Handles player transactions, notifies pit supervisor of any irregularities or disputes that may arise during the game. Being a Poker Dealer may require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Poker Dealer may require 0-1 year of general work experience. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. JOB SUMMARY : Responsible for all aspects of dealing Poker games, while providing excellent service to every guest. Must also supervise Poker Department, protect games and track players, when necessary.
KEY JOB FUNCTIONS : Deals and runs the game at hand in accordance with departmental procedures. Responsible for the Table Tray Bank assigned for the shift.
Handles financial transactions at the game. Collects the poker revenue ( the rake ) from the pot in accordance with departmental procedures.
Collects the Jack Pot money from the pots in accordance with Jack Pot procedures. Monitors the game for customer problems.
Works on the poker room floor in other capacities as directed by the Poker Room Supervisor. Enforces poker rules at the game.
Greet and act as Poker Room Host with customers who are waiting to be seated at an active Poker game. Decides the mix and spread of poker games.
Controls the lists and seating for the games in progress. Handles the Jack Pot payoffs during the course of a shift. Makes rules decisions pertaining to games in progress.
Delegates responsibilities to the poker dealing staff. Fills out appropriate paperwork. Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies.
EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS : One-year previous Poker dealing experience preferred. Must possess excellent customer service skills.
Previous cashiering experience preferred. Must be willing to work any day and any shift. Must present a well-groomed appearance. Gaming License.
PHYSICAL & MENTAL DEMANDS : Lift up to 30 lbs. Push and pull up to 50 lbs. Must be able to bend, stoop, twist, reach, and hear.
Dexterity to utilize tools. Stand for long periods of time or entire shift. Walk up and down stairs. Type. Work in hot temperatures.
Work in cold temperatures. Work in Secondhand smoke environment. Maneuver in confined spaces. Accurate Money / chip handling.
