Plant Accountant provides accounting services for a plant. Responsibilities include analyzing trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses. Being a Plant Accountant complies and prepares analysis and reports of accounting activity and data. Prepares balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and reconciliations. Additionally, Plant Accountant typically requires a bachelor's degree of accounting or related field. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Purpose / scope: This role will be primarily responsible for providing on-site finance support for two manufacturing plants less than a mile apart. Main responsibilities include supporting the controller in month-end financial close, reconciliations, and reporting. This role requires an individual with a high level of analytical skills, organization skills, and attention to detail.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Organizes and distributes monthly, quarterly, and annual internal financial reports for management to support effective business decision making
· Advises management on the resolution of cost related issues
· Oversees and partners with the Central Engineering group regarding capital and maintenance accounting procedures and the monitoring of project budgets
· Inventory control management
· Standard cost & variances management
· Forecast/Projections support
· Responsible for completing all local, state, and government surveys
· Acts as a key resource for business process and external financial audits
· Perform other duties as needed.
