Pipelines Manager manages day-to-day operational aspects of natural gas and/or crude oil pipeline. Plans and develops enhancements of pipelines to troubleshoot pipeline problems. Being a Pipelines Manager ensures that the department's objectives meet the regulations, industry standards, production targets, and quality standards. Determines expenses for pipeline system usage. Additionally, Pipelines Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Pipelines Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. To be a Pipelines Manager typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Position Overview:
This position provides excellent opportunities for advancement with a team of energetic and hard-working professionals. The primary focus of this role will be to serve as Project Manager on key pipeline design projects and provide technical capabilities beyond linear pipeline design to include water storage, booster pump stations, water treatment, pump stations, wastewater treatment, and other complex water/wastewater design projects.
Primary Responsibilities:- Successfully manages and delivers projects on time and on budget, while meeting quality requirements.
- Prepares and monitors project budgets.
- Regularly develops and evaluates project plans.
- Provides leadership, direction and technical guidance on water and wastewater projects.
- Assesses the feasibility and soundness/validity of proposed engineering evaluations when necessary, data are insufficient.
- Ensures proper quality control procedures are implemented on all projects.
- Conducts peer reviews and makes technical presentations.
- Identifies potential clients and project opportunities.
- Mentors Junior Staff.
- B.S Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer in MD, VA, or DC or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- 5-10 years working as a Water / Wastewater Engineer related to pipeline design or other related areas including water and wastewater system studies, water quality analyses, pump station design, water treatment design and wastewater treatment design required.
- Able to demonstrate an established career in Water/Wastewater with considerable knowledge of water and wastewater design of all pipe sizes, industry standards and civil design practices.
- Previous experience as a Design Manager or Task Manager for projects is a very strong plus!
- Experience working with local communities, including assisting operators with treatment solutions, start-up services and commissioning.
- Experience in Business Development and a Seller-Doer mentality a strong plus.
