Position Summary & Responsibilities:
Position Summary:
This Research Analyst II position is located in Topeka, at the Eisenhower State Office Building, and is within the Bureau of Right of Way (ROW). The purpose of this position is the maintenance and manipulation of the Right of Way Acquisition Inventory and Disposal (RAID) records management system to aid in the administration of the Bureau of Right of Way, the development of key reports, and to help Right of Way management develop programs to improve the bureau. The Research Analyst II also manages Right of Way assets.
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
- Analyzes existing processes and develops new data related processes to manage ROW current assets and projects via electronics.
- Develops and prepares forms and templates to be used by ROW staff, RAID input documents, letters, and more to allow a consistent product to be presented.
- Manages Bureau of ROW computers, printers, and phones, acquires necessary equipment for ROW, and assists with the installation of computers and maintaining the central source of information for tracking and monitoring ROW computers and other devices used in the Bureau.
- Assists with the maintenance of the current of the current web-based RAID application system and communicates needed user roles and security for RAID.
- Provides training to new users in the use of ROW application and communicates with ROW staff to identify problems and gather information for solutions needed with any applications.
- Participates in the support of the Bureau of Right of Way in the use of KDOT enterprise IT resources and facilitates maintenance and repair of office machines.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- One year of experience in collecting, evaluating, studying, or reporting on statistical, economic, fiscal/budget, legislative, or administrative data.
- Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency. Transcripts are required for education to be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Six months of experience in providing direction necessary to implement the objectives of an agency, program, or organizational unit.
- Two years of experience working with databases is preferred.
- Knowledge of reports and tracking is preferred.
