KEY FUNCTIONS
1. Perform cashiering functions to include payment on account, distribution of petty cash, verification of cashier turn-ins and change order processing.
2. Responsibly manage assigned funds in conducting cashiering transactions while ensuring that procedures and controls regarding reconciliation, petty cash transactions and cash funds are observed at all times.
3. Provide excellent customer service to MD Anderson’s patients, employees and visitors in the disbursement and receipt of cash, checks and credit cards using the EPIC and Counterpoint Cash Receipting Programs to generate receipts and record transactions.
4. Responsible for daily reconciliation of funds on hand to the transactions completed.
5. Provide change orders for auxiliaries and other MD Anderson cashiers.
6. Review petty cash vouchers for compliance with the Petty Cash and Expenditure Guidelines and access PeopleSoft to verify authorized signature for the co/center listed on the voucher.
7. Research inquiries from patients and other institutional departments as requested.
8. Perform daily updates and weekly audits for patient valuables and ensure all valuables are returned to patients in a timely manner. Ensure valuables taken are documented and properly secured; ensure appropriate documentation at release of valuables.
9. Perform credit card device tamper checks as needed/scheduled.
10.Prepare monthly KPI reports including pivot tables and charts.
11.Assist in reconciling accounts pertaining to Treasury as requested.
12.Organizational skills and ability to work independently.
13.Able to consistently follow financial and administrative procedures and to explain these procedures to those unfamiliar with them.
EDUCATION
Required: High school diploma or G.E.D.
Preferred: Bachelors in accounting or finance.
Required: Three years of cashiering or accounting related experience.
Preferred: Banking experience, accounting experience, experience working with cashiering software, Peoplesoft financials and queries. Must have understanding of cash reconciliation.
