Occupational Therapy Supervisor supervises the delivery of occupational therapy programs that help patients develop, regain, or maintain their ability to perform daily activities. Provides guidance and monitors the performance of the occupational therapy staff. Being an Occupational Therapy Supervisor studies, evaluates, and records patients' activities and progress. May require a master's degree. Additionally, Occupational Therapy Supervisor typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Typically requires Occupational Therapist certification. The Occupational Therapy Supervisor supervises a group of professional level staff. May also be a level above a supervisor. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Thorough knowledge of department processes. SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Responsible for the day-to-day leadership and supervision in the operations of Occupational Therapy Services to include supervision of staff, staffing schedules and day-to-day planning of the delivery of patient care. In addition, this position will treat patients, mentor staff, provide input into the annual budget, and develop programs to improve the delivery of patient care.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited ACOTE program plus 4-6 years clinical patient care required.
Must hold a Pennsylvania license in Occupational Therapy.
Must have strong leadership, organization and communication skills.
