  • POSITION SUMMARY


    The position of Technology Support Assistant requires an individual who possesses the unique
    combination of attributes that include high level technology skills combined with strong interpersonal
    abilities. Requirements of this job focus on providing training and support for instructional and
    administrative technology usage as well as troubleshooting and reconciling hardware and software
    issues. This individual must possess an in-depth knowledge of technology and its successful integration
    into the educational learning process. High levels of communication and organizational skills are
    required, along with an exceptional knowledge level of Internet research, Office programs, and
    Windows OS. A valid and current driver’s license is necessary as district travel is required.


    SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

     

    • Support the District’s mission, vision, values and goals in performance of daily activities.
    • Responsible for adhering to all district and state required safety procedures in performing daily work activities.
    • Assures compliance with federal, state, and local policies, regulations and laws. Provide a technical environment for the District that maximizes investments in technology.
    • Adherence to all the district’s policies and procedures.
    • Supports all necessary school and administrative processes while remaining easy to approach and colleague-friendly.
    • Support Windows PC environment at all schools including end-user support and training, hardware/software inventories, installation and audit compliance to established standards.
    • Provide basic application support and training of the district’s software applications.
    • Responsible for hardware troubleshooting and repair of laptop and desktop computers.
    • Requires basic networking knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
    • Ensure excellent customer service levels and meet expectations.
    • Maintain high standards of housekeeping throughout the work area.
    • Maintain a positive working relationship with all levels of district staff and patrons.
    • 12 month position. Salary based on experience and/or qualifications.

     

    RELATIONSHIPS/CONTACTS

     

    • District personnel including, but not limited to teachers, support staff, and administrative staff -provide IT support to all colleagues within the East Buchanan School District.
    • External vendors.

     

    LEADERSHIP/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

     

    • Provides model behavior to demonstrate district values.
    • Ability to take the lead role of a project and see it through completion.

     

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

     

    • High School Graduate or GED required.
    • Requires background clearance check.
    • Ability to work in fast-paced, mobile environment supporting many users with disparate levels of knowledge.
    • Able to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
    • Extensive experience using desktop software packages, specifically Microsoft Operating Systems, including teaching/demonstrating, troubleshooting, and use of advanced features.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites.
    • Experience troubleshooting and repairing hardware/software issues on desktop and laptop computers.
    • Possesses general knowledge of networking technologies and basic network troubleshooting skills.
    • General working knowledge of common office technologies (fax machines, photocopiers, printers, etc).
    • Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
    • Ability to learn and implement new technologies as they emerge.
    • Ability to read and write in English and perform mathematical calculations.

    **Experience with IP based Telephony(VOIP), Surveillance, and Access Control systems is a plus.

     

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS, WORK ENVIRONMENT, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

     

    • Duties include but are not limited to: stand, walk, twist, bend, lift (40 lbs.), see, talk and hear, with an ability to travel between schools. Travel may be required on a daily/weekly basis.
