Volunteer Behavioral Health is now seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner for the Murfreesboro facility.
(Part-Time-2 days a week)

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Must have a Master’s Degree in Nursing with certification from American Nurses Credentialing Centeras a clinical specialist. The Nurse Practitioner will possess a certificate of fitness to prescribe medications issued by the State of Tennessee Board of Nursing.
EXEMPLARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
In order to provide the clients of Volunteer Behavioral Health Care System continuing and timely care, it has been decided to employ the services of a Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist. As outlined in the rules of the Tennessee Board of Medical Examiners – Division of Health-Related Boards, this Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist will practice under the supervision of a supervising Psychiatrist according to protocols laid out in this document.
Because of the clinic locations of Volunteer Behavioral Health Care System, it is expected that the Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist will at times work without the supervising physician in house. The supervising physician or a designated substitute physician will be available at all times for consultation.
It will be expected that the Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist will maintain licensure as outlined by the Tennessee Board of Medical Examiners for the State of Tennessee.

Patient Population:
The Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist will see patients according to protocols. It is expected that possible diagnoses may include any of the various categories from DSM-IV. Patients within these categories who fall outside of the protocols outlined in this document will be discussed with the supervising physician for possible referral to either the supervising psychiatrist or another appropriate referral source.
Tasks:
·Duties the CNS can provide under the direction of the protocols supervising physician shall include, but are not limited to medication reviews and renewals, and changes.
· New patient evaluations and medication initiation.
· Order lab work as appropriate
· CNS provides medical coverage on patients according to the protocol.
