    Position Overview

    We are seeking an Nuclear Surety Engineer to support Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) programs at Hill AFB (Layton, Utah).

    Primary Responsibilities

    • This individual will join the Nuclear Surety team as well as actively contribute in performance of the day-to-day team responsibilities
    • Oversees planning, staffing & budgetary matters to ensure timely delivery of contractual commitments to the government
    • May be asked to direct & manage all personnel issues to include interviewing, hiring, performance evaluation & determining proper compensation
    • Organizes & oversees technical performance on the contract & ensure delivery of all required deliverables
    • Communicates daily with peers within the business unit as well as customers, Site Leads & Senior Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to identify & resolve problems & challenges to ensure sound execution of contracted effort to include successfully resolving issues requiring senior level (government & corporate) attention
    • Travels (sometimes frequent) to various program sites as necessary to ensure sound program execution
    • Identifies, develops & implements efficiencies that enhance productivity &/or reduce overall contract costs to the government
    • Leads, guides & mentors other team members
    • Evaluating plans & criteria for technical activities in his/her specialty & recommending alternatives
    • May lead projects or segments of major projects responsible for achievement of schedule, cost & technical performance objectives
    • Reviewing & providing assessment & assistance to programs on nuclear surety briefings, point papers, white papers, safety & nuclear surety technical memoranda, changes
    • Attending conferences & meetings to represent assigned activity
    • Developing working group meeting agendas, preparing & consolidating briefing materials, meeting minutes & answers to action items
    • Conducting research in areas which require a moderate level of expertise & knowledge in areas of specialization & some related fields
    • Maintaining knowledge in area of specialization & awareness of developments in the remaining related fields, including extensive contributions to proposal efforts when requested by management

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Outstanding analytic & problem solving skills
    • Knowledgeable in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) basics
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint & Excel)
    • Possess a high degree of originality, creativity, initiative requiring minimal supervision
    • Senior skill set includes ability to perform all stated/implied duties within this tier & those reasonably derived from preceding tiers
    • Able to work independently, demonstrate strong initiative & organize daily tasks with minimal supervision
    • Solid background in Nuclear Surety Instructions, Manuals & requirements
    • Experience developing external customer relationships & ability to communicate Nuclear Surety concepts & requirements with senior leaders

    Education/Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in any engineering discipline and 8 years' experience and/or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training is required to fulfill this position.
