Night Auditor oversees and coordinates front office operations during the hotel overnight shift. Reconciles all hotel cashier transactions, ensures the accuracy of folio billing, posts revenue to appropriate accounts, and compiles various management reports. Being a Night Auditor checks guests in and out, answers front desk telephone and resolves guest service and billing issues as needed. May require an associate degree. Additionally, Night Auditor typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Night Auditor works under moderate supervision. The Hampton Inn Columbia is looking for members to join our Guest Services team. More specifically, we are looking for someone to work 11pm - 7am overnight shift.
MUST be able to work weekends and holidays.
Position Summary
The Night Auditor is responsible to provide and promote a high level of guest service from reception at the front desk to guest checkout, as well as auditing/balancing the guest ledger. In addition to receiving and registering guests, the Auditor posts the day's room rate and room tax to each guest folio at the close of business.The Night Auditor also assists in getting our hot breakfast set up and ready for our guests in the early morning hours.
Position Requirements
-Reconcile all hotel accounts to ensure all financial transactions are appropriately accounted for
-Properly balance shift work and cash drawers
-Follow proper cash handling procedures and post all charges to guest folios and ledger accounts
-Create and/or print required audit reports, file and/or transmit as directed
-Provide information to guests about hotel policies, services, and amenities
-Book reservations in the computer system and process any changes requested by guests
-Sell rooms to walk-in customers
-Communicate with the housekeeping department for room status/availability
-Respond to guest complaints/requests
-Maintain daily logs
