Job Title: Accounts Payable and Income Processing Specialist

Department: Accounting

Reports to: Director of Accounting

Status: Full-Time Hourly

Schedule: Monday Friday 32-40 hours/week

New Life Church's mission is to make disciples in the Pikes Peak region, by calling people to worship, connect and serve.  

To serve New Life Church by providing day-to-day operational support to the Accounting Department, with an emphasis on Accounts Payable and Donation Processing

• Review incoming invoices for required departmental approval.
• Enter vendor invoices for payment.
• Maintain vendor files and data.
• Contact vendors for information as needed.
• Respond to vendor inquiries regarding bill payments.
• Assist accountants and department personnel with invoice coding or documentation.
• Reconcile and/or research items for employee expense reimbursements.
• Process & post contributions as well as non-contribution income according to established guidelines.
• Take bank deposits to the bank as needed (minimally once a week).
• Demonstrate ongoing financial support for the ministries of New Life Church.
• Attend regular staff meetings and additional meetings when requested.
• Work in close association with the entire staff to build and maintain a strong team environment among our staff and complete the work necessary to fully serve and support the ministries and events of New Life Church and the World Prayer Center.
• Cooperate with the Director of Accounting by performing any other duties when asked to do so.:

• Manage and respond to calls and emails as needed.
• Assist the department in coordinating various tasks and procedures.
• Communicate regularly with supervisor about departmental issues. 
• Assist supervisor with special projects, events, and diverse tasks in support of the department. 
• Utilize a thorough understanding of New Life Church employee policies and procedures.
• Work in close association with the entire staff to build and maintain a strong team environment.
• Cooperate with leadership by performing any other duties when asked to do so.

• Ability to read and carry out written and oral instructions.
• Working knowledge of databases and Windows-based applications.
• Possess an aptitude for accounting principles and has good analytical skills with ability to read and interpret spreadsheets.
• Strong problem-solving skills, detail-oriented and self-motivated. Able to complete assignments with little guidance.
• Proficient with general office equipment such as scanners, copiers, calculators, etc.
• Possess a servant’s heart.
• Pleasant individual with good people skills, personable and helpful attitude, and confident in working with people.
• Presents her/himself in a professional manner at all times.
• Ability to verbally communicate effectively and tactfully at all levels.
• Ability to work well under pressure.
• Able to prioritize his/her time well and self manage daily tasks.
• Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.

          Education:  High School Diploma or GED

Experience:  2 years of experience in Basic Accounting/Accounts Payable and Bookkeeping/Accounting Programs

Physical Demands:

• Regularly required to sit and occasionally required to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
• Close visual acuity to is necessary to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
