Responsible for administration of the credit union’s LAN/WAN, telephone system, application servers, enterprise backups, SAN, and other credit union systems as required. Primary focus is optimizing the performance of the network, ensuring network security, and researching and installing hardware and software products and upgrades. Responsible for reporting system changes in hardware/software, documenting processes, and maintaining an accurate inventory of all hardware and software.
Qualifications
Requires a well-organized, flexible, and highly motivated individual with extensive experience in computer networking and/or a two (2) year Information Systems degree. This person must have a strong understanding of networking principles, protocols, and technologies, including Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory, Microsoft Azure Active Directory (Entra ID), Microsoft Exchange, VMware, and Cisco routers and switches. Should be proficient in configuring and troubleshooting network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless networks. Must have a solid grasp of network security concepts and practices, including encryption, authentication, access control, and security policies. Requires analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to target, research, and solve problems while implementing solutions in a timely manner. This position requires off-hours and weekend work.
Physical Requirements
Clear and effective communication abilities are required. Must be able to view a terminal screen and operate a computer keyboard. Must be able to perform moderate to heavy lifting. Must be able to sit and stand for prolonged periods. The ability to travel is required.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Install, configure, and maintain network hardware including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
Administer servers and network communications; add new users and maintain system security
Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize network infrastructure for maximum efficiency and reliability
Research, test, and implement new credit union products pertaining to information technology
Actively participate in recommending and ordering new equipment
Manage and maintain PC software and hardware, including inventory administration
Ensure that all software licensing agreements are accurate and current
Maintain and update network procedures and diagrams
Assist with planning and implementing the credit union’s disaster recovery plan
