ABOUT THIS ROLE:
Responsible for performing mortgage loan processing functions, from receipt of loan documentation through preparation of package for approval and underwriting while ensuring regulatory compliance. Provides excellent customer service to both internal and external customers as well as fellow employees. **Hybrid schedule available after training period of 90 days**
RESPONISIBILITIES:
· Process new mortgage loan applications: such as but not limited to reviewing new applications for completion and early disclosures, obtains all necessary documentation to verify application information, evaluates documentation to ensure compliance.
· Order all required documents such as; real estate appraisals, pull credit reports, title searches, insurance documents etc.
· Organize loan file to be sold on the secondary market
· Communicate with customers as what is needed during the process of completing the loan
· Submits mortgage loan application file for underwriting approval in a timely manner
· Executes closing actions to ensure a timely and effective closing process
· Responsible to become knowledgeable about and adhere to all relevant compliance regulations
· Ensures the timely movement and closing of approved loans through the pipeline.
· Contact title companies, attorneys, loan officers, processors, and insurance companies to obtain documentation necessary to close mortgage loans.
· Completes all disbursement procedures for issuing of funds to attorneys/title company, any necessary refund checks, and release of escrow monies withheld.
· Records data on closed loans for internal tracking purposes
MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Performs special projects and other related tasks and duties as directed by management.
NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
· Knowledge of loan operating system – EMCOMPASS is highly preferred
· Thorough knowledge of loan documents, insurance requirements and real estate terminology preferred
· Good verbal and written communication skills
· Good organizational skills
· Strong analytical skills
· Ability to work under time constraints
· PC proficiencies with Windows based software in Word and Outlook
· Skill in operating office equipment such as: computer, calculator, copy machine etc.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
· High school graduate or equivalent
· 2 year mortgage processing experience preferred
