Mortgage Credit Analyst jobs in South Dakota
Mortgage Credit Analyst assesses the risk and creditworthiness of loan applicants and recommends loan approval, terms, or application denial. Gathers necessary credit, income, and tax information to conduct financial assessments. Being a Mortgage Credit Analyst reviews and verifies property appraisals, collateral value, and key indicators such as debt-to-income and loan-to-value ratios. Prepares a detailed credit analysis and summary using underwriting guidelines, risk assessment frameworks, and following applicable regulatory compliance. Additionally, Mortgage Credit Analyst may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Mortgage Credit Analyst work is closely managed. - Advise loan officers about expiring lines of credit and assist in the renewal of the line.
- Risk rate, select loans and maintain record on all risk rated loans.
- Assist with continuous review of all loans and commitments to identify potential credit problems.
- Work with loan officers in setting upcoming loan reviews and department manager in scheduling department-wide objectives.
- Make recommendations regarding credit analyses to loan officers and/or loan committee.
- Review all credit presentations to loan committee to ensure accuracy, completeness, and independence.
- Assist with insurance, UCC filings, and taxes.
- Ensure efficient and accurate preparation of loan committee presentations, annual review, and comments to files.
- Perform retail banker transactions and activities.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, ag business, or any finance related area.
- Background knowledge in agriculture is required.
- Strong sense of business opportunities to formulate and implement business development strategies.
- Strong analytical abilities and detail orientated.
- Ability to make sound decision making.
- Strong written and verbal communications.
- Strong aptitude for financial calculation.
- Ability to follow policies and procedures.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently and with teams.
- Customer-centric.
- Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality.
