    Membership Marketing Associate

     

    POSITION PURPOSE:

    As part of the museum’s marketing team, the Membership Marketing Associate is responsible for the implementation of various support projects in service of the Denver Art Museum’s membership enrollment, advancement, and success. This role will assist with membership communications and administrative tasks associated with the DAM membership program, as well as the expanded adult learning program in conjunction with the Museum Friends program. Duties include event coordination, budget adherence, program logistics, and cross-departmental coordination.

    This position will ensure the successful fulfillment of benefits for the Museum Friends program.

    This is a full-time position reporting to the Senior Marketing and Membership Manager.

     

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    • Work with the Marketing and Membership Manager to deliver proactive membership communications including monthly renewal process and outreach (new exhibition announcements, Member Preview events, etc.)
    • Work with other members of the Marketing team, including design, content, and website to include membership information in a timely and impactful way to promote the member program and deepen member engagement with the museum.
    • Manage monthly renewal process (mailing emails) for general membership program, including the Friends program.
    • Coordinate sales strategies and message development with Visitor Services to help with member acquisition and onsite sales for the Museum Friends program.
    • Regularly review and report on membership budget, acquisition and renewals for the Museum Friends program—focusing on member retention and acquisition.
    • Coordinate the planning of the museum’s holistic adult learning program in association with Curators, Learning & Engagement, Marketing, and Development.
    • Coordinate event logistics for lectures, talks, and enrichment events associated with the adult learning program including booking space, speaker/artist contracts, adding events to web calendar, event set-up requests, ticketing requests, AV requests, and staffing in accordance with museum processes and standards.
    • With the guidance of the Senior Membership & Marketing Manager, develop recommendations for enrichment events that cater to a broad audience and align with the exhibition schedule and greater adult learning calendar.
    • With the guidance of the Senior Marketing & Membership Manager, implements strategies for how the Museum Friends program is communicated and fits into the overall membership program.
    • Coordinate event logistics for an estimated 5-7 annual enrichment events as part of the Museum Friends program. Includes booking space, set-up requests, ordering food & beverage, event communications, and staffing events.
    • Works closely with the Marketing and Communications teams to promote the Museum Friends program and lectures in service of boosting attendance and creating awareness for the museum adult learning and membership programs.
    • Serve as key point person for all internal communications related to the Museum Friends program and the expanded adult learning offerings.
    • Collaborates with the Development team to ensure Museum Friends benefits align with higher levels of giving.
    • Drive the decision making around on-sale ticket dates for adult learning programming and coordinate with Marketing and Communications to deliver timely communications.
    • Work with Learning & Engagement and Curatorial colleagues to develop content for quarterly Friends e-newsletter. Manage delivery of e-newsletter.
    • Provide reports and assessments on the successes and challenges of the Museum Friends program.
    • Manage & track invoices and expenses related to membership marketing and Museum Friends program.  
    • Represent the Denver Art Museum at internal events, as requested.
    • Work on some evenings and weekends may be required.
    • Other duties as assigned.

     

    Qualifications


    QUALIFICATIONS:

     

    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively and respectfully with visitors, staff, volunteers, and members in person, on the telephone, and via email.
    • Ability to self-direct and work independently.
    • Strong attention to detail in a multi-tasking, fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to maintain a high level of collaboration across the museum.
    • Proficiency in Spanish language is a plus.
    • 1-3 years’ comparable work experience in administration, membership, marketing, development, communications, or event planning required.
    • Raiser’s edge knowledge experience preferred.
    • Email marketing experience a plus.
    • Customer experience preferred.

    Pay: The hiring salary for the position is $20.00 - $25.00 based on experience.

     

    Position type: This position is covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement with AFSCME-CWU. All nonsupervisory roles are either represented or non-represented. Represented means the role is unionized and covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement with AFSCME-CWU. Non-represented means the role is not unionized.
