Member Services Director directs and coordinates all aspects of the health maintenance organization (HMO) member services department. Plans and directs policies and objectives for addressing member inquiries. Being a Member Services Director establishes service quality goals for the department and implements strategies to meet these goals. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. The Fredericksburg Area Builders Association (FABA) is the trade association for nearly 300 members of the residential land development and construction industry in Central Virginia, including single and multi-family developers, builders, architects, attorneys, engineers, and other professions involved in the land development and construction process.
FABA is looking for a Director of Government Affairs to proactively develop and implement advocacy strategies that promote economic development and residential land development and construction in the Greater Fredericksburg region. Primary responsibilities include: identifying and tracking relevant local legislative issues; developing and implementing lobbying strategies; maintaining strong relationships with local elected officials and staff; and fundraising and management of the association’s political action committee.

Requirements: Candidates will have an educational background in government and politics and experience working in legislative environment or government affairs related fields. Candidates must also have good communication skills and demonstrate an ability to build relationships across a broad spectrum of constituencies. Experience with community development is preferred. Candidate should have basic proficiency with Excel and Microsoft word and be willing to travel as well as attend public meetings and events after 5pm.
