Participates in the development of standards and the creation of testing materials. Being a Member Certification Specialist maintains and monitors a test scheduling system or database. Organizes resources to implement testing schedules and sessions, including locations, testers, technology, and materials. Additionally, Member Certification Specialist assists members with information about programs and resolves any issues with the process. Interfaces with and monitors outside testing providers. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Member Certification Specialist occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Position: Specialist – Teacher Certification
Classification: Clerical – Non-Exempt
Work Year: Full time – 12 month
Qualifications: High School Diploma required
Prior experience working with the public
Typing, computer, good communication skills
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
General Office Duties
Provides front line customer service, including but not limited to handling daily office tasks such as answering incoming calls, greeting and assisting visitors, ordering supplies, taking/filing correspondence as needed, and ensuring overall successful operations.
GED
Assists with GED inquiries and performs all tasks related to certification and transcripts; works with state and local agencies as needed to complete and submit monthly reports.
Certification
Provides assistance with all matters related to licensure; works with all state and local agencies as needed.
Professional Development Activities
Assists with coordinating and implementing all processes related to professional development activities.
Master Substitute List
Assists with overseeing all processes related to creating and maintaining the master substitute list.
Fingerprinting
Provides fingerprinting services, processes required billing, and completes all other applicable documentation.
Maintains required licensure and ensures upkeep of the equipment.
Performs all tasks related to licensure; work with all state and local agencies as needed.
Compliance
Reviews licensure of all certified employees and prepares reports for compliance visits.
ROE Services and Projects
Provides support for all ROE services and projects including but not limited to Truancy, School Services, Bus Driver Services and Health Life Safety.
Other
Closes the ROE office daily.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
