Director, Engineering - Manufacturing

My client is an innovative company that manufactures and develops metal and plastic solutions for a variety of industries. They are seeking to hire a Director of Engineering responsible for managing teams of engineers, tooling associates (fabrication, maintenance) and product development associates ensuring departments are in alignment with the organization’s initiatives and objectives. Direct the completion of engineering projects while driving continuous improvement efforts and innovation.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the activities of engineering, tooling and technical programs to ensure budget and timely production
• Maintain sufficient, qualified staffing of dept.; responsible for training and managing performance
• Support sales in quoting activity of new programs
• Manage activities of engineering dept. within functions of manufacturing
• Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure seamless transfers of engineering/tooling for modifications
• Assists with the development of cost-effective manufacturing methods/processes
• Oversee tooling program’s purchasing vs. creating decisions
• Responsible for department’s vendor selection
• Maintain knowledge of new technologies and make recommendations of cost reduction and improved performance

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
• Min. 10 years of Engineering experience within the manufactured die building and design industry
• Experience within metal stamping manufacturing industry required
• Knowledge/Understanding of ISO/QS/TS strongly preferred
• Excellent leadership skills; ability to coach and train a team (6-7)
• Ability to provide support to technical sales as needed
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize, meet deadlines
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite

Offering:

• Base Salary up to $200K (can be higher based on experience)
• Bonus Potential up to 30%
