Manufacturing Director oversees manufacturing operations and the production management and supervisory teams for a plant or unit. Incorporates organization-wide operational safety, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and cost control policies and programs into manufacturing processes. Being a Manufacturing Director monitors production metrics, responds to and resolves problems, and recommends process improvements, new technologies, and methods to maximize operational efficiency. Collaborates with leaders to manage and resolve workforce or labor issues and develop long-term solutions. Additionally, Manufacturing Director implements long-term plans for facilities, equipment, materials, technology, and workforce resources to maintain manufacturing capacity and processes that support business goals. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Manufacturing Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Manufacturing Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. Position Summary: The Operations Manager is a critical position in allowing Pacon to continue to grow at its current rate. The person is a key member of the Pacon Management Team. He/she will have full responsibility for the performance of the NC production operations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:

o Direct Reports will include
§ Production Manager to whom the floor supervisors report
§ Mechanics Supervisor to whom the mechanics who support the floor report.
§ Operations Administrative Support – Production paperwork
§ Material Planning Group
o Develop People
o Develop / maintain efficient daily schedule that allows Pacon to meet customer needs while meeting internal metrics
· Internal Reporting / Data Collection
o Assure the paperwork submitted / entered into ERP is timely and accurate
o As issues arise, oversee the collection of useful data used to allow Operations, mechanics, Plant Engineering and/or others to identify root cause and develop corrective action. This could be for negative issues (waste, inefficiency) or opportunities for improvement.
o Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends (e.g. projects, operating performance, etc.) as needed by the management of the company
o Prepare weekly / monthly reports
· Executive Management Team Member
o Properly communicate, and participate in, efforts to improve the business
General Education and Background Requirements:
Required
· Experience in small to mid-size manufacturing companies with ISO/ GMP Quality Systems
· Ten years’ experience in Operations Management of manufacturing company with greater than 100 people
· Must have strong Microsoft Outlook/Word/Excel abilities
· Experience with an ERP system
· Must be a strong communicator and team player
