Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Rail Logistics to oversee our logistics operations in Kansas City, MO. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a proven track record of optimizing supply chain processes, reducing costs, and improving efficiency. As the Director of Logistics, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our logistics strategy to support our continued growth and success.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute strategic plans to optimize rail logistics operations, including network design, capacity planning, and route optimization.
• Lead and mentor a team of logistics professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including transportation, procurement, and customer service teams, to streamline processes and improve overall efficiency.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with key rail carriers and suppliers, negotiating contracts and agreements to achieve favorable terms and conditions.
• Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes, proactively identifying opportunities and risks to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
• Implement best practices for safety, compliance, and environmental sustainability, ensuring adherence to all relevant regulations and standards.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• 8 years of progressive experience in logistics, supply chain management, or operations management, with at least 4 years in a leadership role.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex data sets and derive actionable insights.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and levels of the organization.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a focus on driving results, fostering teamwork, and developing talent.
• Deep understanding of rail transportation regulations, market dynamics, and industry trends.
• Proficiency in logistics software and technology platforms, with experience implementing and optimizing transportation management systems (TMS) preferred.
