Summary Of Position
The Commercial Credit Loan Review Manager is responsible for overseeing the loan review process, ensuring the quality and soundness of the bank’s loan portfolio. This role involves evaluating the bank’s lending practices, assessing credit risk, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies. This position will report directly to the Director of Credit and work closely with various departments to maintain the integrity of the bank’s lending activities.
Responsibilities Include- Conducting regular and systematic reviews of loan portfolios to assess credit quality and adherence to bank policies. Identifying and evaluating potential credit risks and recommending corrective actions.
- Analyzing credit risk and monitoring the performance of loan portfolios.
- Performing annual reviews of updated financial information and renewals of existing borrowing relationships. Monitoring past due reports, covenant compliance, borrowing base certificates, state financial reporting.
- Maintaining independence in determining loan review scope, communicating results, and identifying risk rating recommendations.
- Participating in efforts to ensure risk ratings are appropriate and providing training to lenders regarding risk ratings and problem loan identification and recognition.
- Ensuring all lending activities comply with applicable federal and state regulations.
- Working with internal and external auditors during examinations and reviews.
- Recommending and performing special reviews as dictated by the bank’s portfolio concentrations and/or local or national economic conditions and market trends.
- Providing detailed reports and insights on the credit quality of the loan portfolio to senior management and the Board of Directors.
- Collaborating with credit administration, lending officers, and other departments to address identified issues and improve loan quality.
Qualifications & Skills:- 7 years of experience in commercial lending, credit analysis, or loan review – with 3 years in a credit or loan review function with a commercial bank.
- Comprehensive understanding of commercial banking products, credit risk management, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and identify trends and issues.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present findings and recommendations clearly and concisely.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Proficiency with Abrigo is preferred.
