Laboratory Information Systems Coordinator coordinates, develops, and maintains the scope and performance of laboratory information systems projects. Primary Purpose
Manages and directs efforts related to implementation, maintenance, management, and troubleshooting for the District’s student information system (SIS). Provides technical leadership and training to technical staff and technical updates to administration.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent experience related to implementation, support and management of a district-wide SIS.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working directly with district-level SIS management and support (Skyward Qmlativ experience a plus).
- Demonstrated competence in administrative software and database systems support, management, setup, maintenance, interfacing to include SIS and other database systems.
- Expert level report writing and data integration skills in multiple languages (SQL and SQL Reporting Services required).
- Experience working with multiple entities and organizations to complete integration and report tasks.
- Knowledge of Skyward Qmlativ with understanding of all modules (attendance, demographics, master scheduling, reporting, and academic planning) a plus.
- Maintenance of complex, enterprise-scale client/server systems.
- Ability to effectively lead a team of technically skilled employees in an educational setting.
- Senior-level working knowledge of MS SQL/Transact-SQL is required
- Advanced experience with ASP.net, C#, VB.net, SSRS, Visual Studio, and Power BI desired
- Ability to develop and maintain systems documentation and end user manuals
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well with all levels of the district.
- Customer centered and service oriented
- 5 years’ experience with MS/SQL server database design and development
- 5 years’ experience with software requirements, analysis, design, and programming
- 5 years’ experience with report development
- Coordinates information systems-related issues with the student information system software, including identification of and assistance with the resolution of program problems and implementation of system enhancements
- Supervises team of programmer/analysts for student information systems and related software applications
- Proficiency in MS/SQL server databases and be able to create tables, views, procedures, functions, SSIS packages, and jobs
- Development of complex reports with multiple data connections to various data source types, real-time and on-demand drilling and sub reports, parameters, and dynamic groupings
- Initiates system tasks, identifies failures and abnormalities, initiates corrective actions, and recommends and controls system recovery efforts.
- Understand, document and configure software related to student information.
- Assist with problem solving and trouble-shooting activities for the production events related to SIS.
- Supervises and designs the data interchange between SIS and other databases/systems.
- Coordinates with third-party software and external vendors on District applications.
- Plan, organize, and implement training for other staff members to use computerized applications
- Monitor input of data, scheduling of jobs to be processed, and correction of errors for assigned application
- Provides user support to obtain necessary reports via data mining and data warehouse systems.
- Periodically work after normal duty hours and occasional weekends or holidays to meet project deadlines or as directed by supervisor.
