Job Developer supports social services clients in job searching and placement. Establishes and maintains working relationships with employers, industry organizations, and public agencies to source job openings and secure employment and vocational training opportunities for clients. Being a Job Developer evaluates individual's background, skills, and interest and matches to potential job openings or training programs. Coaches and prepares candidate for interview and entry into the workforce. Additionally, Job Developer may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Job Developer occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. The job developer is responsible for finding opportunities including employer outreach and orientation, job searching, job creation/carving, resume preparation, small business support and interview assistance. - Structure efforts to find paying opportunities for the individual and match strengths to job needs.
- Maintain effective communication with all parties involved with the participant’s care team.
- Plan transportation and travel training.
- Prepare case records and reports.
- Maintain active leads database for all paying opportunities.
- Assist Resume and employment documentation creation and preparation.
- Support all interview preparation activities.
- Interface with the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR), benefits counseling agencies, or Ticket to Work employment networks on behalf of a participant.
