IT Vendor Relationship Manager jobs in Connecticut

IT Vendor Relationship Manager manages the organization's strategic technology vendor management program to meet company needs and comply with required quality standards. Assists with selecting the company's product and service providers and tracks the procurement of IT products and services to monitor and maintain operational costs and budgets. Being an IT Vendor Relationship Manager leads request for proposals (RFP) process to vet the reputation and quality of vendor products. Negotiates service level agreements to ensure performance/quality metrics, responsibilities, expectations, and penalties are clearly defined. Additionally, IT Vendor Relationship Manager works closely with internal teams to monitor, maintain, and improve existing vendor relationships. Conducts regular business reviews to ensure compliance with company expectations, review issues, and develop solutions. May require experience with software licensing and hardware procurement. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The IT Vendor Relationship Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an IT Vendor Relationship Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Responsibilities

    As a key member of our Strategic Sourcing Center, you'll play a pivotal role in executing strategies for large-scale development and procurement projects for our clients. Based in Westport, CT, this role reports to the Managing Director.

    Your Day-to-Day

    Develop and execute sourcing strategies to meet client objectives in the IT realm, covering hardware, software, and services.

    Provide valuable insight and subject matter expertise throughout the client relationship lifecycle.

    Analyze client spend and procurement processes to identify opportunities for optimization.

    Manage multiple projects efficiently, ensuring timely delivery and desired outcomes.

    Lead discovery sessions and collaborate directly with clients on RF(x) documents and strategies.

    Create and manage large-scale RF(x)s through our sourcing software, fostering strong supplier relationships.

    Negotiate pricing and service agreements using our proven sourcing methodology.

    Counsel internal and client stakeholders on specifications improvement and cost containment strategies.

    Keep abreast of industry innovations and share best practices across various client engagements.

    Deliver top-notch customer service to ensure high satisfaction levels internally and externally.

    Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree required.

    7-10 years of cross-functional experience in procurement, vendor management, or supply chain roles.

    Demonstrated success in IT and indirect procurement, with expertise in IT hardware, software, and related services.

    Experience interfacing with clients and stakeholders at all organizational levels.

    Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to operate independently in a dynamic environment.

    Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships effectively.

    Analytical prowess, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

    Flexibility to travel up to /- 25% of the time.
