Job Summary:

The Community Outreach Specialist plays a pivotal role within the nonprofit running the Resource Equity Program. As the Community Outreach Specialist, they are responsible for engaging with target communities, conducting outreach activities, and building strong relationships with community organizations. The role aims to raise awareness about the Resource Equity Association's Housing Navigator Program, identify potential program participants, and promote the program's benefits to historically displaced communities in Seattle.

Key Responsibilities:

Community Engagement:

• Conduct community outreach to raise awareness about the Resource Equity Program and its benefits among historically displaced communities in Seattle.
• Establish connections with community members, leaders, and organizations to foster partnerships and collaborations.

Outreach Activities:

• Develop and implement outreach strategies, including door-to-door canvassing and engagement at community locations like churches, community centers, and grocery stores.
• Attend community events and meetings to share information about the program and actively participate in discussions.

Partnership Building:

• Collaborate with community organizations, churches, and nonprofits to promote the program and identify potential program participants.
• Develop strong relationships with partners to enhance the program's reach and impact.

Recruitment and Enrollment:

• Identify and recruit legacy homeowners and individuals from historically displaced communities who could benefit from the program.
• Facilitate the enrollment process and provide assistance in accessing wealth-building knowledge.

Data Collection and Reporting:

• Collect and maintain data related to outreach efforts, community feedback, and program interest.
• Prepare regular reports on outreach activities, participant engagement, and impact.

Skills Needed:

• Strong communication and community engagement skills to connect effectively with diverse populations.
• Ability to build relationships and establish rapport with community members and organizations.
• Knowledge of community outreach strategies and approaches.
• Empathy and understanding of the challenges faced by historically displaced communities.

Reporting Relationships:

• The Community Outreach Specialist reports directly to the Program Director or Business Manager, depending on the organizational structure.
• They collaborate closely with other team members, particularly the Program Director, Asset Coach, and Outreach Coordinator.

KPIs to Monitor:

• Number of successful community outreach engagements.
• Effectiveness of outreach strategies in identifying potential program participants.
• Community partner satisfaction and collaboration level.
• Feedback and satisfaction of individuals engaged during outreach activities.

Tools, Hours, and Location:

• The Community Outreach Specialist utilizes communication tools and resources for outreach activities.
• Full-time position, with flexibility for evening and weekend community engagement events.
• Office location at the nonprofit's headquarters, with frequent travel to target community locations for outreach activities.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 per week
