Investment Specialist analyzes and researches financial markets, securities, and investment products to assess risks, evaluate potential returns, and make informed investment decisions for an organization. Collects and researches economic data, financial metrics, and market conditions to develop and build financial models, forecasts, and investment strategies. Being an Investment Specialist monitors and analyzes portfolio performance, asset allocation, and risk exposure to ensure alignment with the organization's investment objectives, strategies, and risk tolerance levels. Prepares investment reports and analyses on investment opportunities or strategies to identify trends and recommend actions for the organization. Additionally, Investment Specialist utilizes mathematical formulas and statistical analyses to identify potential or alternative investments and calculate and evaluate financial health, returns, and fair value of securities, assets, or other investments. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Investment Specialist work is highly independent. May assume a team lead role for the work group.     The Investment Solutions team within Baird Private Wealth Management plays a key role in ensuring that Baird Financial Advisors have the tools and capabilities across the investment, lending, and liquidity platforms necessary for delivering great outcomes for our clients. The Investment Solutions Specialist is responsible for partnering with Financial Advisors, Branch Associates, Portfolio Managers, and other Key Partners seeking general information on the solutions available across the platform and will gain valuable first-hand experience in assisting with the day-to-day management of multiple solutions. The Specialist will work with various areas of the firm to develop guidelines, tools, and best practices in support of the business, and will also incorporate external and internal feedback to support improved standards of service and processes with the guidance of the Investment Solutions team. The Specialist should expect to directly support the following areas of Investment Solutions:

    • Advisory Solutions
    • Lending & Liquidity
    • Alternative Investments
    • Key Account Relationships

    As an Investment Solutions Specialist, you will:
    • Serve as a subject matter expert to Financial Advisors, Branch Associates, Portfolio Managers, and other Key Partners to educate them on general inquiries about the platform.
    • Work with Baird internal partners, the field, and associates within Investment Solutions to implement process and service enhancements.
    • Assist in managing relationships and maintaining in-depth familiarity with the broad platform in support of Baird Financial Advisors and Portfolio Managers.
    • Assist in addressing immediate operational issues regarding the platform with the field.
    • Assist with mapping Financial Advisor recruits into appropriate products and services.
    • Handle account-level exception requests from the field.
    • Perform any other duties as assigned.

    What we look for:
    • Bachelor’s Degree with 3-5 years of relevant professional experience in the financial services industry required.
    • SIE and Series 7 & 66 licensed required within 12 months of start date.
    • Ability to learn and effectively navigate Baird’s Private Wealth Management technology platforms (Thomson ONE, ValueOne, Envestnet, etc.).
    • Exceptional client service skills including both written and verbal.
    • Strong computer skills, including proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • History of delivering consistent, high quality performance.
    • Strong organizational skills – ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
    • Ability to act as a team player, assisting others in the department when necessary, is mandatory.
    • Possesses a high attention to detail.
    • Strong analytical skills.
