Instructor - Sociology teaches courses in the discipline area of sociology. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - Sociology provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Sociology typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research. Key Responsibilities
Previous online teaching experience preferred, but not required.- Provide instruction, as specified in the curriculum, up to 5-7 hours per week.
- Instruction is delivered in an asynchronous manner.
- Provide testing of students’ knowledge of theory
- Establish and maintain 5-7 office hours weekly to answer students’ questions.
- Assess student performance on course assignments and provide assessment feedback to support student learning.
- Implement changes to curricula and lesson plans to incorporate approved/relevant online and digital content, new textbooks, new testing software, new instructor resources, new equipment.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
- Pior teaching experience is required
