Job Goal: Works with the Chief Academic Officer and Instruction Team to support the integration of instructional technology throughout the district.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of a B.S. degree from an accredited educational institution.
- Master's degree preferred from an accredited educational institution.
- Minimum of 3 years successful teaching experience.
- Instructional Work Using Technology in the Classroom Environment.

Background Check Required: (Ala. Code §§ 16-22A-5) Upon offer of employment, employees will be required to submit legible fingerprints for a background review by the Alabama Bureau of Investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Background checks must not be more than 10 years old.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to work with all stakeholders to integrate technology into the daily educational practices of students and teachers.
- Ability to support the district instructional technology plan.
- Ability to promote the appropriate and ethical use of technology with regard to privacy and copyright issues through the acceptable use policy.
- Remain current in knowledge of instructional technology by attending conferences/workshops/classes.
- Exhibit strong technical, organization and communication skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, orally, in writing, and via e-mail and other electronic communications means.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Ability to help maintain the district instruction website to effectively communicate with all stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Establish means to make students and teachers comfortable using current and future technology.
- Assist schools and departments with long and short range instructional technology goals.
- Work closely with all schools to implement school instructional technology plans.
- Work closely with all schools to integrate instructional technology into the classroom regularly.
- Support library media specialists with school-wide instructional technology and innovative programs.
- Support new and innovative instructional goals to include digital portfolios, 1:1, etc.
- Support the implementation of the Digital Literacy and Computer Science standards.
- Lead professional development for digital tools, google apps, and learning management systems including PowerSchools and Schoology.
- Identify, review, and support the integration of the latest PreK-12th grade instructional technology tools and programs to support teaching and learning, including special education assistive technology.
- Support procedures that assure a continual review process to update existing instructional technology tools and programs.
- Support audio/video needs of the district with digital content creation.
- Provide video editing support for teachers pursuing National Board Certification.
- Support staff development plans with training opportunities for instructional technology.
- Work effectively with the instructional staff at both the central office and school levels to integrate technology into the curriculum.
- Maintain effective communications with all school technology representatives.
- Promote and support the district 1:1 initiative.
- Promote and support digital content creation across the district.
- Provide supervisors and collaborators with periodic reports regarding recommendations for improvement, status of technology in schools, needs, and concerns.
- Attend meetings, conferences, and workshops to continue learning about instructional technology and other educational initiatives and remain current on emerging technology practices in education.
- Assist in maintaining the district instruction website to help effectively communicate district programs and initiatives with all stakeholders.
- Assumes other reasonable and equitable job-related duties assigned.
- This position will be subject to the Students First Act of 2011. Madison City Schools reserves the right to fill this position by transfer of a qualified applicant who is already employed by Madison City Schools.
- Under the Students First Act of 2011, no credit toward tenure or non-probationary status is earned in the initial school year of employment if the date of hire occurs after September 30.
Expected Employment: 240 days (full contract)
