Responsibilities:
General Maintenance: Perform a variety of handyman services including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and other trades work as needed to maintain our facilities.
Repairs: Diagnose and repair issues efficiently, utilizing your expertise in multiple trades to address problems promptly and effectively.
Installation: Assist with the installation and setup of fixtures, equipment, and other items as required.
Routine Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance tasks to ensure the ongoing functionality of building systems and equipment.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, particularly when working at heights or with potentially hazardous materials.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory management to ensure accountability and efficiency.
Team Collaboration: Coordinate with other team members and departments to address
maintenance needs and support overall operational goals.
Skills and Qualifications:
Handyman Expertise: Proficiency in a range of maintenance trades, including carpentry,
plumbing, electrical, and general repairs.
Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot issues and develop effective solutions across various maintenance disciplines.
Experience: Prior experience in trades work and general maintenance is a definite plus.
Safety Consciousness: Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment, particularly when working at heights or with specialized equipment.
Valid Driver's License: Must possess a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation.
Availability: Must be available to work Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, in the Chicago suburbs.
Physical Stamina: Ability to perform tasks that may require lifting, bending, and working in various weather conditions.
Communication: Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members and convey maintenance needs.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or vocational training in trades work is desirable.
Previous experience in maintenance, construction, or related fields preferred.
