Information Technology Supervisor supervises the implementation and administration of information systems and equipment in accordance with organizational policies and goals. Implements internal procedures and guidelines to diagnose and resolve technical issues across different systems and technologies, including hardware, software, and networks. Being an Information Technology Supervisor analyzes business needs and recommends IT hardware and software products to support internal business processes. Develops detailed documentation of methodologies, processes, and specifications of an organization's IT systems and coordinates and schedules IT initiatives. Additionally, Information Technology Supervisor monitors information systems to ensure computer equipment, hardware, and software operate in alignment with organizational needs and standards. Installs and configures an organization's network infrastructure including LANs, WANs, and wireless networks and monitors network performance. Implements basic security measures to protect systems and data and develops backup strategies and recovery plans. Collaborates with business groups to help utilize information systems to improve operational efficiency. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Information Technology Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be an Information Technology Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes.     Under the general direction of the IT Manager I, Acquisition and IT Program Management (APM), the IT Supervisor II is a full supervisory level position for Software Services which consists of a complex, medium size, professional staff that conducts purchasing of software and related Information Technology (IT) contracting, budgeting, and administrative activities. The IT Supervisor II is responsible for all related procurement and contracting activities including, but not limited to, the procurement of software and services including the most complex software contracts, including IT systems and mainframe software and related installation, integration, maintenance, consulting, and training.

    • Work Monday through Friday, permanent, full-time, day shift.
    • Periodic overtime and travel may be required.

    In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
    • Experience in personnel management, lead, and/or supervision.
    • Experience with all phases of state project lifecycle, IT program management, and contracting processes related to IT services.
    • Experience in applying PCC, UCC, GC, SAM, SIMM, and SCM.
    • A strong background in the nomenclature of the IT industry in order to provide procurement direction to technical staff and clients for IT project planning.
    • Knowledge of budget, resource management, and IT strategies to meet departmental goals.
    • A dependable, responsible, and positive attitude.
    • Willingness to accept challenges and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
    • An ability to write comprehensively, communicate with all levels of management, including executive and peers, attorneys, and external customers.
    • An ability to analyze data and interpret into a procurement methodology which best fits the data center and its clients.
    • Tact and good independent judgment, as well as professionalism and discreetness.
