Information Technology Manager manages the implementation and administration of information systems and equipment in accordance with organizational policies and goals. Administers internal procedures and guidelines to diagnose and resolve technical issues across different systems and technologies, including hardware, software, and networks. Being an Information Technology Manager oversees the analysis of business needs and selects IT hardware and software products to support internal business processes. Develops detailed documentation of methodologies, processes, and specifications of an organization's IT systems and assists with the planning of the organization's IT roadmap. Additionally, Information Technology Manager manages the IT strategy and roadmap to ensure computer equipment, hardware, and software operate in alignment with organizational needs and standards. Plans and implements an organization's network infrastructure including LANs, WANs, and wireless networks and monitors network performance. Allocates resources and oversees departmental budget to support and manage IT projects through the entire lifecycle. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Information Technology Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Information Technology Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Supervisory Responsibilities

    This position manages technicians, project engineers, customer relations throughout project lifecycle, and company contractors in the completion of customer installations and maintenance.

    Work Environment/Physical Demands

    This job operates in both a clerical office setting and on-site role. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, fax machines and copy machines. Must be able to sit, stand, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

    This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are generally Monday through Friday, during normal hours of operation. This position may also require occasional weekend work.

    Travel

    Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some overnight travel may be expected.

    Required Education, Experience & Abilities

    • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology or a closely related field.
    • At least 5 years’ experience with Project Coordination and Management. Experience may be accepted in lieu of education requirements.
    • Ability to travel locally during the business day and travel out-of-area overnight.
    • Ability to read blueprints and accurately estimate jobs.
    • Basic understanding of financial profitability and job costing.
