HVAC Mechanic jobs in Alaska

HVAC Mechanic performs maintenance and service repairs on heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems. Installs new units or replacement parts for existing units according to specifications and established safety guidelines. Being an HVAC Mechanic follows blueprints or engineering specifications to install units. Performs troubleshooting to identify the cause of problems. Additionally, HVAC Mechanic maintains and secures a spare parts inventory. Recommends purchasing maintenance equipment and supplies as required to improve processes and efficiencies. Typically requires an apprenticeship and/or completion of technical training. Requires a high school diploma. The regulations governing the location may require an HVAC Mechanical State License and EPA Section 608 Certification (CFC). Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The HVAC Mechanic works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.     Oiler / Non-Mobile Mechanic – O&M Milne Point

     

    JOB SUMMARY

     

    The Oiler / Non-Mobile Mechanic is responsible for PM servicing, performing safety checks, and monitoring fluid levels on trucks and equipment. This position assists light and heavy duty mechanics during repairs and maintenance activities.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

     

    ·        Replace engine oil and apply grease and other lubricants on light and heavy-duty vehicles and equipment.

    ·        Able to self-start & work with little supervision.

    ·        Monitor fluid levels on all vehicles and equipment.

    ·        Check and maintain cooling and hydraulic systems.

    ·        Maintain records and logs of fluid consumption.

    ·        Maintain schedules of all requests and work orders.

    ·        Assist mechanics during repairs and maintenance activities.

    ·        Clean and maintain equipment, tools, and the general work area.

    ·        Basic light duty PMs & Inspections.

    ·        Tire repair and replacement.

    o   TPMS programming.

    ·        Hose replacements / Hose fabrication.

    o   Power Steering, transmission, coolant.

    ·        Belt, battery, and alternator replacement.

    ·        Minor electrical diagnostic inspections & repairs.

    ·        Wheel bearing & non-mobile bearing maintenance & replacement.

    ·        Basic CEL diagnostic inspection.

    o   Read, comprehend, and clear codes.

    ·        Other duties will be assigned to this position as needs require.

    ·        Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.

    ·        Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.

     

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

     

    ·        Must be a self-started and must be able to work efficiently alone.

    ·        High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.

    ·        Drivers License required

     

    CERTIFICATIONS

     

    ·       North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training certification required.

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

     

    ·        A minimum of three (3) years of related training and experience preferred.

    ·        Experience in the oil and gas industry and in the arctic environment preferred.

    WORKING ON THE NORTH SLOPE

    While working on the North Slope of Alaska, your lodging and food will be provided to you.  All camps provide warm meals and options to grab a quick lunch or snack from the spike rooms.   Rooms vary from single status to shared rooms where your roommate may work the opposite shift.  Wi-Fi and Internet is free and available within the camp.  Services vary depending upon where you are staying; however, most facilities offer housekeeping, self-serve laundry, commissary, mail, gyms, TV/Theater Room, etc.  Each facility will have their own accommodations and policies that will be reviewed upon on-site orientation.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

         Meet the physical requirements of this position including working in a remote location under arctic conditions.
