Help Desk Supervisor supervises the staff and the day-to-day operations of an organization's technical help desk. Supports and coaches team members on effective methods to research, troubleshoot, and deliver solutions. Being a Help Desk Supervisor trains the team on the help desk systems, processes, tools, and procedures required to document, track, and resolve reported problems and to meet operational service levels and standards. Ensures the latest product/technical updates and policies are available and communicated to the team. Additionally, Help Desk Supervisor monitors request queue and tracks key metrics to ensure sufficient coverage and achievement of service standards. Identifies system and workflow improvements to enhance the team's efficiency. Acts as the escalation point for critical issues and facilitates a final resolution. May require a bachelor's degree. Help Desk IT Specialist
The Junior IT Specialist performs IT duties while working as part of a team with more experienced government and contractor IT Specialists, and will work independently, depending on the level of complexity, following detailed problem specifications provided by others. Work is monitored and reviewed upon completion for accuracy and compliance with standards by government and contractor leads or more experienced IT personnel as needed. Performs technical work at a professional level using standard techniques, concepts, and procedures. Expected to show initiative and judgment while performing assigned tasks. Must possess excellent customer service skills, follow directions, and be self-motivated to complete assignments, research solutions, and gain experience in IT desktop support.
The Mid IT Specialist performs IT support duties and related problem solving using desktop IT support skills, demonstrating IT desktop experience, good judgement, and initiative. Works well both as part of a team as well as independently, successfully completing tasks while receiving only general guidance on assignments and solutions. Performs technical work of a professional level using standard techniques, concepts and procedures. Competent to work independently on technical assignments and projects, meeting deadlines. Contributes to complex problem solving. Must possess excellent IT technical skills, customer service skills, work independently, supporting users and resolving their IT issues while representing assigned service unit, follow directions, and be self-motivated to complete assignments, research and apply solutions.
The Senior IT Specialist performs all levels of IT duties from routine installations and maintenance to IT tasks that are complex in nature under limited, general guidance. Competent to work on complex technical IT assignments. This position performs IT support duties and related problem-solving using desktop IT skills, demonstrating IT desktop experience, good judgment, and initiative. Works well both as part of a team as well as independently, with the ability to lead a technical team, successfully completing tasks while receiving only general guidance on assignments and solutions. Performs technical work at a professional level using standard techniques, concepts, and procedures. Highly skilled to work independently on technical assignments and projects, meeting deadlines. Contributes to and leads others with complex problem-solving.
