Health Educator is responsible for developing and designing health education programs meant to increase community awareness and knowledge. Conducts needs assessments and keeps up-to-date on changes in health care technology to keep program material current. Being a Health Educator develops, coordinates, and disseminates educational resources and materials. May provide health education outreach and consultation. Additionally, Health Educator requires a bachelor's degree in a related area. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Health Educator work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Responsibilities: Implement WIC program policies with care and precision. Uphold confidentiality and sensitivity in client assessments. Document nutrition and health assessments accurately. Tailor nutrition prescriptions to address unique family needs. Address nutrition, health, and breastfeeding concerns with professionalism and empathy. Employ effective counseling techniques based on evidence-based information. Identify and overcome barriers to facilitate positive behavior change. Deliver nutrition education aligned with WIC guidelines. Offer referrals with care and understanding. Collaborate with families to develop achievable goals. Organize and conduct WIC outreach clinics, extending our reach to more families. Collaborate with community partners and engage in community services. Drive outreach efforts to maintain client participation. Qualifications: Preferred licensure or registration as a Dietary Technician. Education in nutrition, health, or related fields. Passion for delivering excellent client care. Accurate adherence to WIC program policies and procedures. Strong communication and counseling skills. Knowledge of evidence-based nutrition and health principles. Understanding of breastfeeding support and promotion. Familiarity with conducting clinical assessments. Flexibility to adapt to changing program needs.
