Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. This hospital is accredited by The Joint Commission, is a recognized stroke and chest pain center, and was recently renovated within the past 10 years.
Duties
The Intensive Care Unit RN will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of all assigned ICU patients. Specific duties include:- Assisting physicians and advanced with rounding, patient examinations, and various procedures in the critical care unit
- Providing care for patients with critical IV drips, ventilation support, arterial lines, and central lines
- Collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, high quality patient care outcomes
- Serving as liaison between patients, ICU physicians and advanced practitioners, and patient families to provide optimal patient care and effective communication
