Head Coach (Minor Sport) oversees all activities of a minor athletic team. Plans and directs training of student athletes, and assesses individuals' abilities and skill level to determine appropriate team position. Under the direct supervision of the Director of Athletics and the general supervision of the building principal, the softball coach organizes, coordinates, and promotes a comprehensive program of softball instruction that is designed to meet the needs and interest of the school community.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned
Special Knowledge and Skills:
General knowledge of coaching techniques and procedures
Knowledge of University Interscholastic League (UIL) rules
Specific knowledge of subjects assigned
General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
