Description
The Junior Grant Writer is Responsible for supporting the grant writing team in researching, drafting, and submitting grant proposals to a variety of funding sources. This role involves identifying potential funding opportunities, assisting with proposal development, and maintaining records of grants and funding-related documents. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented individual with excellent research and writing skills, a passion for the OUR Rescue mission, and a commitment to helping our team achieve its funding goals.
Key Responsibilities- Grant Research:
- Research potential grant opportunities from public and private sources, including foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
- Maintain a database of grant opportunities and deadlines.
- Proposal Development:
- Assist in drafting grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and supporting documents.
- Collaborate with other team members to gather required information for grant applications.
- Ensure that proposals meet the specific requirements of each funding source.
- Grant Application Submission:
- Coordinate the grant submission process, including obtaining signatures and completing required forms.
- Submit proposals and track the status.
- Grant Reporting and Compliance:
- Assist in preparing reports for awarded grants, ensuring compliance with grant requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of grants received and funds expended.
- Communication and Collaboration
- Work closely with Grants Team, Advancement Team, and other stakeholders to ensure a cohesive grant strategy.
- Communicate with external funders when necessary for additional information or clarification.
- Administrative Support:
- Provide administrative support to the grant writing team, including scheduling meetings, preparing materials, and maintaining files
- Organize and update grant-related documentation.
- 2 years in an English, Communications, Grant-Writing or Non-Profit field.
- Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to conduct thorough research and synthesize information.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Previous experience with grant writing or fundraising is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively.

- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
