Foundation Director directs the execution of the vision, strategic planning, financial management, fundraising, and grantmaking operations that support the overall objectives of a foundation. Defines the goals and tactics for fundraising campaigns and program initiatives. Being a Foundation Director represents the foundation to the public and media to communicate its mission, values, and accomplishments. Maintains positive relationships with foundation stakeholders, including the board of directors, grantees, community leaders, donors, and prospective donors. Additionally, Foundation Director oversees grantmaking operations, including developing grant guidelines, reviewing grant applications, and managing the grant evaluation process. Manages foundation programs and initiatives that align with the foundation's mission and values. Implements systems for monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the foundation's grantmaking and programs. Ensures all foundation activities comply with applicable laws, reporting requirements, and regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Foundation Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Foundation Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Pay: $57.56 - $81.37 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

    Summary:
    Directs the Foundation department's major gift activities and resources to ensure alignment with the mission, values, and objectives of the department and organization.

    Responsibilities:
    Designs and implements strategies, programs and initiatives to solicit gifts from individuals, groups, employees and organizations, focusing on solicitations of major, principal and planned gifts.

    Manages implementation of departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the administrative, legal and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization. Integrates Foundation activities with the mission, vision and values.

    Supports and leads from a process improvement perspective, utilizing best practices to continually reach higher philanthropic returns. Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.

    Works closely with staff to foster a culture of philanthropy. Serves as staff representative to Foundation board of directors. Monitors and evaluates departmental budgets and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding.

    Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

    Requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree in related field.
    • Minimum Experience: 5 years of relevant experience.

    Preferences:
    • 10 years of major gift fundraising experience
