Fleet Manager Summary of Position:

As Fleet Manager, you will be responsible for creating and overseeing fleet safety, processes, budgeting, inventory, and repairs. You will be responsible for ensuring all trucks and equipment are adequately repaired and maintained to ensure they can be operated safely and efficiently. You will also track all equipment data and inventory to identify the company’s needs as they arise.

Responsibilities:

Inventory and Technology

• Track and order shop supplies and inventory as needed.
• Maintain records of repairs and maintenance
• Maintains inventory of vehicles, equipment, repair parts, supplies
• Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures
• Grade existing inventory based on condition.
• Forecast truck and equipment needs for the next 3 years.
• Manage in-house shop personnel.

Repair

• Schedule and manage contractors that perform repairs.
• Perform operation test before and after repairs for verification.
• Help diagnose causes of any vehicle malfunction.

Preventative Maintenance

• Ensure vehicles and equipment are regularly inspected and maintained to ensure safe operation.
• Enforces safe work behavior and maintains a safe work site.
• Development of vehicle and equipment maintenance preventative maintenance program

Qualification Requirements:

• 5-10 years of transportation or fleet management experience
• Intermediate-level computer skills (including Word, Outlook, and Excel)
• Knowledge of methods, techniques, and procedures involved in mechanical maintenance repairs and replacement. Including small engines, vehicles, and heavy equipment.

Physical Demands:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; crouch; stoop or kneel; reach with hands and arms; talk, and hear
• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather (heat or cold), and moving mechanical equipment.

  This is a remote position. This position will have 25% travel required.
