Financial Systems Manager manages a team of analysts responsible for the implementation and administration of the organization's financial systems. Oversees the daily operations of the department.     What We Do

    Come join First American as Manager, Business Systems. You will manage a team of Business Systems Analysts who have responsibility for operations and project outcomes. Define business processes and system alignment. Translate business requirements into system definitions and solutions. Strategic partner, acting as liaison between the user community and the technical applications development staff (may include offshore staff). Resolve system problems to ensure customer processes run smoothly. Document business processes, training procedures, standard operating procedures, project status, etc. Implement system alignment with business processes. This role is flexible to be in-office or remote located within the U.S.

    Essential Functions

    • Manages a team of Business Systems Analysts who have responsibility for operations and project outcomes. Provides direct and indirect supervision of teams.
    • Technical and implementation focus on providing standard and customized applications to resolve escalated and/or complex business needs/issues.
    • Develops solutions and identifies business system requirements and related business/application solutions over a complete business process.
    • Oversees the development of new customizations with design, documentation, testing and training.
    • Conducts business process evaluations to gain technical knowledge of business requirements.
    • Contributes to project reviews and approves detailed designs and cost estimates for projects.
    • Sets priorities on daily operations, provides input to and administers cost center spending.
    • Participates in long-range departmental planning.
    • Recommends methodologies.
    • Interfaces with management inside and outside of the company to provide input to operational decisions and to clarify or modify project plans, and/ or schedule requirements.
    • Writes and conducts employee performance reviews, and provides ongoing performance feedback. Makes hiring recommendations. May get input from Sr. Manager/ Director in these areas.
    • Regularly interacts with senior management and peers in other departments for purposes of gaining cooperation, exchanging technical information, and presenting project plans and reports.
    • Facilitates work and problem resolution between work groups. May lead cooperative inter-department projects and/or process improvement efforts.
    • Required to perform duties outside of normal work hours based on business needs.

    Knowledge and Skills/Technology Used

    Technical Qualifications:

    • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
    • Considers the business implications of the application of technology to the current and future business environment.
    • Advanced knowledge of standard features and functions of multiple applications/modules to field.
    • Identifies problems, researches alternatives, prepares presentations, drives solutions, tests to confirm, gains consensus, and implements solutions for multiple applications within multiple functions.
    • Advanced knowledge of Data Analysis and/or relational databases and ability to mentor others.
    • Microsoft Office skill set.
    • Advanced knowledge of system integrations and supporting technologies and ability to mentor others.

    Management and Leadership Qualifications:

    • Successful track record of managing operations; and designing, developing and managing the execution of projects in area of expertise.
    • Ability to develop and implement processes to ensure compliance and quality.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within and between departments.
    • Strategic Management: Ability to communicate the function’s vision and the department’s direction, and set aligned goals for team. Provides resources and implements systems to measure results.
    • Team Development: Ability to select, coach and develop talent and hold employees accountable for results. Supports change and fosters collaboration.
    • Ethics: Deals with others in an honest manner, assures adherence to company policies, addresses questionable business practices.
    • Customer Focus: Fosters customer loyalty and demonstrates commitment to customer satisfaction. Keeps customers apprised of progress and ensures commitments are met.
    • Communication: Provides others with reliable information, creates and delivers accurate reports and presentations. Uses good listening skills. Negotiates effectively.

    Typical Education

    • Generally requires BS Degree or equivalent work experience

    Typical Range of Experience

    • Typically have 8 years of directly related experience.
    • Typically 5 years of experience leading analysis efforts and/or BSA resources.
    • 5 years of technical experience as a senior contributor.
    • 3 to 5 years of supervisory or management experience in a similar technical environment.

    License or Certification

    • CBAP ( Certified Business Analysis Professional ) certification preferred
